Each rally
will have timed sections. Each section will be considered a “race”
and points will be awarded for that section. Each section is at
least 10 miles in length....and some sections are 17 miles in
length. Total rally miles average 35 to 55 miles. Rally length
is posted for each event.
Our first
rally will have FOUR sections....and therefore will be scored
as FOUR races. Lowest elapsed time in each section will determine
the winner. Points will be awarded down to 10th place. See points
system here. Note that rallies offer many more points overall...than
our racetrack races do,.....so it’s benificial to score
as many points as possible in both rallies.
Rally
begins (rally #1) with four clocks synchronized to the exact same
time and seconds. The four clocks are given to each of the checkpoint
scoring personnel and taken to each checkpoint. Competitors are
instructed to leave the starting point at a documented time. When
a competitor reaches checkpoint #1....his time is documented again....and
that “race” is over. You will not need to leave the
checkpoint you just arrived at quickly. You may rest...or make
repairs....or have a pit crew waiting with gas or supplies. Rest
and repairs will not effect your time BETWEEN each section. When
the competitor is READY to leave that checkpoint.....the scoring
person is notified and the departing time is once again documented.
This process repeats for each section until you arrive at the
final checkpoint. You will be scored to the EXACT second when
your wheel stops at each checkpoint....and the EXACT second when
you are INSTRUCTED to leave that checkpoint.
At rally end.....your
times for each section will be recorded and points will be awarded
accordingly. Times for each competitor in each section...will
be posted here at formula50racing.com the next day after the races.
There will also be an overall lowest elapsed time for the entire
rally posted.
We
have 20 volunteers and the timing clocks to make the event as
professional and accurate as we can. It is up to you to follow
the instructions at each and every checkpoint so that your times
are recorded properly.
